4-Ingredient Baked Marshmallow Fluff Dessert

4-Ingredient Baked Marshmallow Fluff Dessert

This little 4-ingredient baked marshmallow fluff dessert is the kind of treat you throw together on a busy evening when you want something sweet without much effort. It reminds me of the quick desserts we used to make for church gatherings—simple pantry ingredients, almost no prep work, and a baking dish that somehow ends up completely empty before the night is over.

The magic comes from a layer of marshmallow fluff topped with crunchy pretzels, chocolate chips, and melted butter. As it bakes, everything melts together into a gooey, golden dessert with crispy edges, melted chocolate, and just enough salty crunch to balance the sweetness.

Serve it warm straight from the baking dish with small bowls and spoons so everyone can dig into the soft center and toasted topping. A scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream makes a perfect finishing touch.

Recipe Information

Servings: 8

Ingredients

  • 1 (7–7.5 ounce) jar marshmallow fluff or marshmallow creme
  • 3 cups mini pretzels, lightly crushed
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×9-inch glass baking dish with butter or nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Spread the marshmallow fluff evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula to scrape every bit from the jar and smooth it into an even layer.
  3. Sprinkle the lightly crushed pretzels evenly over the marshmallow fluff. Gently press them into the surface so they stay in place while baking.
  4. Scatter the chocolate chips evenly over the pretzel layer, making sure every area of the dish gets a little chocolate.
  5. Drizzle the melted butter evenly across the top. The butter helps the pretzels toast and encourages everything to caramelize beautifully in the oven.
  6. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown, the marshmallow is puffed and bubbly, and the chocolate has melted.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow the dessert to cool for 10–15 minutes before serving. The center will be extremely hot immediately after baking.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy every gooey, chocolatey bite.

Variations & Tips

  • For a peanut butter version, drizzle 1/4 cup warmed peanut butter over the marshmallow layer before adding the pretzels.
  • Replace the pretzels with 2½ cups crushed graham crackers for a s’mores-inspired dessert.
  • Crushed vanilla wafers or cornflakes also make excellent substitutes for the pretzels.
  • For a less sweet dessert, use dark chocolate chips and sprinkle a little flaky sea salt over the top immediately after baking.
  • Add 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts for extra crunch and flavor.
  • To create an extra-chocolatey version, sprinkle an additional handful of chocolate chips over the dessert during the last 5 minutes of baking.

Storage

Store leftovers tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat individual portions in the microwave or warm the baking dish in a low oven until soft and gooey again.

Food Safety

Because melted marshmallow becomes extremely hot, allow the dessert to cool before serving, especially to children. Discard leftovers that have been left at room temperature for more than 2 hours, or sooner in very warm conditions. Always discard if any signs of spoilage develop.
