I am saving you a trip to the bakery and maybe even some money. This recipe is for your favorite Crescent Cheese Danish. These are so easy to make and will taste even better than store bought
Ingredients 2 tubes of prepared crescent roll dough 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature 2 tbsp butter, unsalted and melted 1 tsp lemon juice ¼ cup light brown sugar ½ cup granulated white sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract Glaze: ½ cup powdered sugar 4 tsp milk 1 tsp vanilla extract Instructions FIRST STEP: Preheat the oven to 350*
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
SECOND STEP: Open the tubes of crescent roll dough, Do not unroll them
In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, lemon juice, vanilla and the granulated sugar until it is thoroughly combined
THIRD STEP: Using a sharp knife, cut thick slices of ½” to ¾” slices of the crescent roll. Again, do not unroll it.
Lay each of these slices on the parchment covered baking trays
FOURTH STEP: With each slice, use your fingers to build a slight upraised edge on the dough. This will hold the filling in
In a small bowl combine the melted butter with the light brown sugar and mix
FIFTH STEP: Use a pastry brush to brush the butter on each of the slices
Spoon even amounts of the filling onto each slice
SIXTH STEP: Bake for 15 to 17 minutes, or until slightly golden brown
In another small bowl combine the confectioners sugar with the vanilla and the milk and stir to combine.
SEVENTH STEP: Drizzle the glaze over each cheese danish
The danish can then be topped with your choice of fruit or eaten plain.
