Ingredients:
For the bread:
1 loaf of French bread or Italian bread
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried oregano
For the spaghetti:
1/2 lb spaghetti
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups marinara sauce
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
1️⃣ Prepare the spaghetti:
Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2️⃣ Cook the beef:
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Add the diced onion and minced garlic and cook until the onion is soft, about 3-4 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
3️⃣ Combine spaghetti and sauce:
Add the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper to the skillet with the beef. Stir to combine and cook for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Add the cooked spaghetti and toss to coat. Remove from heat.
4️⃣ Prepare the bread:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the loaf of bread in half lengthwise. Hollow out the inside of the bread, leaving a thick shell. Brush the inside of the bread with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder and dried oregano.
5️⃣ Stuff the bread:
Fill the hollowed-out bread halves with the spaghetti mixture. Top with grated Parmesan cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese.
6️⃣ Bake:
Place the stuffed bread on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread is golden brown.
7️⃣ Serve:
Remove from the oven and let the bread cool slightly. Slice into individual portions and garnish with chopped fresh basil.
