Ingredients
For the Dough:
1 egg
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup milk chocolate chips
For the Topping:
24 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped
3 teaspoons white sparkling sugar OR granulated sugar
Directions
Begin by preheating your oven to 350℉ and greasing a 9×13-inch baking pan.
In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter, and egg using an electric mixer at medium speed until well combined.
Gently fold in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into the mixture until a dough is formed. Then, stir in the milk chocolate chips.
Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle with 2 teaspoons of white sparkling sugar or granulated sugar.
Bake for 22-24 minutes or until the dough puffs up and turns a golden brown.
Immediately after removing from the oven, place the Hershey’s Kisses in a 4×6 row pattern on top of the hot bars and sprinkle with the remaining teaspoon of sugar.
Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into squares, ensuring a Hershey’s Kiss is in the center of each square.
