These Turkey Stuffing Balls are great for using leftover turkey and stuffing, or as a snack for the holidays. Crunchy on the outside, soft and tasty on the inside, they are simple to prepare and always a success!
Ingredients:
2 cups of cooked turkey, shredded or finely chopped.
2 cups of stuffing (you can make it yourself or buy it at the store)
1/4 cup of chicken or turkey broth, or more if necessary.
1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1/4 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 egg, beaten gently
1/2 cup of breadcrumbs (if desired, for covering)
2 tablespoons of butter or olive oil (for baking)
Instructions:
1️⃣ Preheat Oven:
Heat your oven to 375°F (190°C) before using it. Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
2️⃣ Combine the ingredients:
In a big bowl, mix together chopped turkey, stuffing, seasoning for poultry, salt, and pepper.
Slowly pour the chicken or turkey broth while mixing until the mixture sticks together but is not too wet.
Add the whisked egg to combine the ingredients.
Make three balls.
Shape the mixture into portions the size of golf balls using your hands or a scoop.
Optional: Roll each ball in breadcrumbs for an extra crispy coating.
4️⃣ Cook in the oven:
Put the balls on the baking sheet that has been prepared. Coat them with melted butter or olive oil.
Cook in the oven for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and hot all the way through.
5️⃣ Present:
Serve warm with your favorite gravy, cranberry sauce, or a creamy dipping sauce.
Advice:
Prepare in advance. Make the balls ahead of time and freeze them without cooking. Cook directly from frozen, and increase the cooking time by a few minutes.
Enhancements: Add chopped fresh herbs such as parsley or sage to give it more taste.
Leftover food: These are great for using up extra turkey and stuffing after the holidays, perfect for a snack.
