Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef
1 onion, diced
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 (15 oz) can of tomato sauce
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. dried basil
1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 (13.8 oz) can of refrigerated classic pizza crust dough
Additional toppings of your choice (such as pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, etc.)
Directions:
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain any excess fat.
Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the tomato sauce, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
Grease the slow cooker with cooking spray. Spread a thin layer of the meat mixture on the bottom of the slow cooker.
Sprinkle 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese and 2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese over the meat mixture.
Roll out the pizza dough to fit the bottom and up the sides of the slow cooker. Place the dough on top of the cheese and meat mixture, pressing it firmly against the sides of the slow cooker.
Spread the remaining meat mixture over the dough and top with any additional toppings of your choice. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese over the top.
Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours, or until the crust is golden brown and cooked through.
Carefully remove the pizza from the slow cooker using a large spatula. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Note: The cooking time may vary depending on your slow cooker. Check the pizza after 2 hours and cook for an additional 30 minutes to 1 hour if needed.
