Mama Seward’s Strawberry Cake Recipe

Posted on November 10, 2023 By 3nviu No Comments on Mama Seward’s Strawberry Cake Recipe

This is a very moist cake! If I close my eyes while eating it, the aroma almost makes me feel as though I’m eating fresh strawberries. There’s no better endorsement than that!

Reviews:

-I made this for Easter and everybody LOVED it! I will make it again!

-I made this cake for my family for our Super Bowl Party. I have never made this cake before and it is my husband’s and kid’s favorite cake. I usually just buy the box cake and tub of icing but decided to give it a try. I’m so happy I did. It was fantastic! I was so proud of myself. I did a layer cake and followed the recipe exactly. The only minor thing I did was put 4 oz. of cream cheese in for the icing. This will be on rotation now for our family events. Thanks for helping me impress my bunch.

-This sounds similar to a recipe I made years ago that was the best strawberry cake ever. I also love the comments about reducing the sugar. Pinched for future reference!

Cook time: 40 Min Prep time: 10 Min

Ingredients

CAKE

1 box white cake mix

1 box strawberry gelatin (small box)

1 c oil

1/2 c milk

4 eggs

1 c mashed sweetened strawberries (not drained)

FROSTING

1 stick butter, softened

1 lb box of powdered sugar

1/2 c mashed strawberries, drained

Directions

1. CAKE: Mix all cake ingredients together and pour into a 9×11 inch pan. (You can layer in 2 smaller pans if you’d prefer.) Do not fill to the top of the pan, or batter will bake up too tall.

2. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes.

3. FROSTING: Mix together frosting ingredients. (It’s very important that strawberries are drained.) If too thick keep adding strawberries until it is the right consistency.

Last Step: Don’t forget to share!
