Ingredients:

 

 

 

150 ml (2/3 cup) warm milk

 

7 g instant yeast

 

15 g (1 tbsp) flour (for yeast)

 

20 g (1 tbsp + 1 tsp) butter, softened

 

1 egg

 

15 g (1 tbsp) sugar

 

330 g (2 5/8 cups) flour

 

3 g (1/2 tsp) salt

 

Instructions:

 

 

 

Prepare the Yeast Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the warm milk, instant yeast, and 15g of flour. Stir well and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

 

 

 

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add the egg, softened butter, and sugar. Mix until well combined.

 

 

 

 

Add Yeast Mixture: Pour the yeast mixture into the wet ingredients and stir until everything is well mixed.

 

 

 

Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, combine the 330g of flour and salt.

 

 

 

Make the Dough: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring continuously until a dough forms.

 

 

 

Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.

 

 

 

Let it Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.

 

 

 

Shape and Second Rise: Once risen, punch down the dough and transfer it to a greased loaf pan. Cover and let it rise again for about 30-45 minutes, or until it has puffed up.

 

 

 

Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the brioche for 25-30 minutes, or until it has a golden-brown crust and sounds hollow when tapped.

 

 

 

Cool and Serve: Allow the brioche to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
