INGREDIENTS:
two tbsp. active dry yeast
a quarter tsp. Hot water
one C hot milk
1 1/2 tsp melted butter
a quarter C. plus 1 tsp. sugar
3-4 C. all-purpose flour
one egg
one C. salt
I used my bread machine’s dough setting to do this.
Combine water, yeast and one tbsp. sugar and let stand until frothy, about seven minutes. Add the lukewarm milk, the melted butter, one beaten egg, the sugar, the salt and then the flour. I ended up using about 3 halfs C. of flour. When finished setting the dough, remove and knead a few more times on a floured surface. Pinch ball sized pieces & flatten just a touch and placing on greased cookie sheet. Let rise another hour then bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden on top.
Enjoy !
